The Role

Our Head of Portfolio is a senior leader within our IT team and will play a significant role in the digital transformation journey we are about to embark upon! We're excited to say the very least. In this role, you'll be working closely with business and technical stakeholders including our Product Management team to help define and manage the supply view of our product roadmap and deliver high-quality business solutions. You understand and champion agile delivery within Pepperstone, knowing which tools and techniques will allow us to manage our complex, interdependent roadmaps. This role will directly shape the future of Pepperstone and will work with a skilled, knowledgeable, and collaborative team that is already committed to achieving great things.

This role is the face of delivery at Pepperstone - you'll manage the overall communications of the delivery to the business. This includes regular progress updates, identifying and communicating potential blockers, and driving showcase events to update the company on relevant progress on all projects.

We're looking for an experienced people manager who is passionate about helping others and actively supports the professional development of their team through mentoring and providing a supportive, inclusive, and technically progressive environment for them to grow. A key focus of your role is to ensure that the teams collaborate and are prepared for the challenges that the world of technology poses by teaching them to be flexible, agile in their thinking, and innovative in their approach to solving problems for the business.

You'll undertake and perform the following:

  • Leading a team of Business Analysts to drive quality analysis standards and support in the preparation of requirements 
  • Leading a team of Delivery Leads to ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with the needs of the business requirements
  • Supporting the team in the participation in relevant Agile ceremonies and rituals:
    • Backlog Refinement
    • Daily Stand-up
    • Iteration / Release Planning
    • Showcases / Sprint Review
    • Retrospective
    • Workshops, etc.
  • Engaging with the team to support delivery standards and delivery frameworks
  • Ensuring our technology teams receive the support they require - both in terms of quality of requirements and avoidance and remediation of blockers
  • Championing our delivery function in alignment with our company values which include #getITdone

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Leadership experience across a similar function (Analysis and Delivery) 
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and undertake business analysis within an Agile environment with experience in requirement elicitation, gathering, documentation, and management
  • Experience facilitating groups across multiple disciplines
  • A strong analytical mindset paired with creative problem solving and a willingness to try new approaches to achieve goals
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders and users in the provision of advice, guiding decision-making, and seeking cooperation in the delivery of services
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills including delivering engaging and informative presentations and training to a variety of audiences
  • The ability to prepare and deliver technical and business reports and proposals for all levels of Pepperstone
